A Lincolnshire museum has been damaged by a fire in its thatched roof.

The fire, which is being treated as suspicious, started at the two-storey Church Farm Museum on South Road in Skegness early on Friday morning.

Fire crews worked through the night to remove the thatched roof so the flames would not spread.

Church Farm Museum is facing funding problems after Lincolnshire County Council withdrew its grant money earlier this year.

The museum's main attraction is the original 1760s farmhouse which is furnished in Edwardian style.

A group have been campaigning to save the museum and a 5,000-name petition has been sent to the council.

More than 15,000 people visit the site each year.
