Long Sutton Co-op worker confronted by thieves

A cashier was threatened by two men with an iron bar during a robbery at a Lincolnshire supermarket.

The woman was walking back to the Co-op store in Long Sutton after closing the petrol station on the same site on Thursday when the men demanded cash.

The pair, who were both in their late teens or early 20s, stole a quantity of cigarettes before running off.

One was wearing a balaclava. Police want to hear from anyone in the area who has been offered cheap cigarettes.

Det Con Nicola Stafford, from Lincolnshire Police, said: "This has been particularly traumatic for the victim, who is extremely shocked."

The robbery happened at 2000 GMT.
