Most delayed East Midlands trains back on track

Trains in the East Midlands are mostly back on schedule after days of severe winter weather.

East Midlands Trains will operate a normal schedule on its main line between Sheffield and London on Monday.

Delays are still expected on some other routes, with no trains running from Lincoln to Grimsby or Lincoln to Doncaster.

Stations on the Robin Hood line at Creswell and Shirebrook in Nottinghamshire also remained closed.

Snake Pass

The routes from Lincoln to Peterborough and from Derby to Crewe are running as usual.

Passengers who were not able to travel because of poor weather are being allowed to use their tickets on any day until 10 December, the firm said.

Meanwhile, the police in the region are warning drivers to be very careful on the roads, especially where black ice is a problem.

In north Derbyshire, the A57 Snake Pass remains closed between the Hurst Road junction in Glossop and the A6013 junction in Ladybower Reservoir because of ice and snow.
