Blood donations fall in Lincolnshire during December
- Published
The National Blood Service says donations dropped by more than a third in Lincolnshire in December, mainly because of the icy weather.
Although no sessions have been cancelled, donations fell by 39% in the county this month.
Officials think donors are spending more time with relatives at the festive period and the weather may have made access to donation centres difficult.
The service is deploying extra sessions over the holidays to boost supplies.
