A new state-of-the-art MRI scanner with the ability to carry out more complex diagnostic procedures has been unveiled at Lincoln County Hospital.
The £1.4m piece of equipment can scan blood vessels without the need for an injection.
It can also carry out breast scanning - a procedure which was not possible with the previous machine.
More scans will also be carried out with the patients going feet first, which reduces claustrophobia.
People needing scans now have direct access to the machine from the changing area, ensuring their dignity and privacy will not be compromised.
Radiology Services Manager at Lincoln County Hospital, Steve Brown, said: "This high specification equipment will enable us to undertake a greater range of complex procedures, supported by the expertise of our radiology team."
