Third man charged over Lincolnshire kidnap case

A third man has been charged in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a 50-year-old man in Lincolnshire.

Ian Barnes, 40, was arrested at home in Hastings, East Sussex, on Thursday and was questioned in Spalding.

Two men, including an MP's spokesman, have previously been charged with kidnapping the man, on 30 January. Two women have also been charged.

Mr Barnes, of Cloudesley Road, St Leonards on Sea, will appear at Grantham Magistrates' Court later.

Craig Jackson, 39, of Wharf Street, Spalding, who has worked as the agent and spokesman for John Hayes MP, along with Andrew Sayer, 39, of Moons Green, Spalding, are charged with kidnapping.

Angela Skeels, 37, of the Wash and Tope Hotel, Hunstanton, and Gina Page, 47, of Estuary Close, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, are also charged with kidnapping.

Mr Jackson was remanded into custody at Lincoln Crown Court on 9 February and the other three were granted bail until a plea and case management hearing on 26 April.

He is also charged, with Ms Skeels and Ms Page, of perverting the course of justice and possession of cannabis.
