Gainsborough burglaries prompt police warning

A spate of burglaries in Lincolnshire has prompted a warning from police.
In recent weeks there have been 30 domestic burglaries in Gainsborough, mostly involving the theft of electrical goods.
Police said they had made four arrests and extra patrols were being made but incidents were continuing and there must be more offenders in the area.
They asked residents to be aware of any suspicious activity and to be extra careful over household security.
Insp Michelle McIlroy said: "We have made real progress in terms of the arrests we have made, but clearly the issue is ongoing and we need to work together with the community to stamp it out as soon as possible.
"The public can help us by reporting any suspicious people or vehicles to us with descriptions as soon as possible."
Parts of the town affected so far include High Street, Queen Street, the Terraces, Pasture Road, Parnell Street and Balfour Street.
