A 25-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed in Lincoln.

Police were called to a passageway beside the Lincolnshire Co Op shop in Carholme Road, which leads to Drake Street, at about 2200 GMT on Thursday.

The victim was treated at Lincoln County Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

A 40-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of wounding a short time later and is being interviewed by detectives.

Police have appealed for any witnesses in the area at the time to come forward.

They particularly want to speak to a man and a woman, thought to have blonde hair, who may have been in or near the passageway when the attack happened.

Detectives stressed the pair were not believed to be involved, but could be key witnesses.
