Man is bailed over stabbing in Lincoln

A man, 40, arrested on suspicion of stabbing a 25-year-old in Lincoln has been released on police bail.

Police were called to a passageway beside the Lincolnshire Co-op shop in Carholme Road, which leads to Drake Street, at about 2200 GMT on Thursday.

The victim was treated at Lincoln County Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

The 40-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of wounding and released on conditional bail until 31 March.

Police have appealed for any witnesses who were in the area at the time to come forward.
