Thief snatches winning scratch card from woman, 82

A thief on a bicycle has stolen a winning lottery scratch card from an 82-year-old Lincolnshire woman who was celebrating her win.

The woman was robbed on her way home from a Co-op shop in Boston where she had verified her £800 scratch card.

The winning ticket was snatched out of her hand as she was showing it to a neighbour through a window.

The thief was described as wearing dark clothing, but no detailed description was available.

A police spokeswoman said the scratch card was "of no use to anyone" as the details had been completed on the reverse and could not be claimed.

The theft has been reported to National Lottery Commission.
