West Lindsey housing tenants face 'local' test

New social housing in Lincolnshire is to be made available to families who can prove a firm link with the area.

Nineteen family properties, off Wragby Road in Bardney, will be ready by the end of March.

West Lindsey District Council said that to be considered, a tenant had to be on the local housing list and have a connection with Bardney.

Officials said this meant either being born in the town, being a current permanent resident or working there.

The energy-efficient houses have been built by developer Kier Partnership Homes.

A council spokesman said: "This is good news for the local people of Bardney, and it will help them to get a home and also get a start on the property ladder."
