Louth driver arrested over fatal crash

A man has been arrested after his car left the road in Lincolnshire, killing one passenger and injuring another.

The Honda coupe came off the A16, London Road, Haugham near Louth just before midnight on Thursday.

A 21-year-old man from Louth was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 20-year-old man from Louth was treated for minor injuries at Grimsby Hospital.

The driver, a 21-year-old, also from Louth, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

This brings the number of people killed on Lincolnshire's roads this year to 13 compared to 8 at the same time in 2010.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
