Lincolnshire road closed after package found

Walkerith Road was closed for several hours

Bomb disposal teams were called after a suspicious package was found on a Lincolnshire road.

A member of the public alerted the police to a package on Walkerith Road between Morton and East Stockwith near Gainsborough.

The road, which is in a non-residential area, was closed from about midday on Wednesday until late that night.

A police spokesman said suspected explosive material had been found at the scene.
