Spalding residents consulted over new road plans

People living in Spalding, Lincolnshire, are being asked for their views on plans to reduce congestion in the area.

The county council wants to build a new road linking the B1172 with the A151, to ease the impact on traffic flow of the town's six railway level crossings.

Discussion with affected landowners were continuing following a meeting on Thursday, said the authority.

The route of the planned road has yet to be decided.

Public consultation exercises will be held in Spalding's Red Lion Quarter on 1 and 2 July, at Pinchbeck Baptist Church Hall on 4 July, and at the village hall in Deeping St Nicholas on 5 July.
