Lorry driver charged over A17 nine-vehicle crash

A 42-year-old man has been charged after a nine-vehicle collision blocked a main road in Lincolnshire.

The crash happened on the A17 at Fleet Hargate at 0733 BST on Wednesday, and involved two HGV lorries, a van and six cars.

The Dutch driver of a Scania lorry was charged with driving without due care and attention and is due to appear at Grantham Magistrates' Court later.

Eight casualties were treated in hospital for minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash.
