New York collision: One person killed and five injured

A 21-year-old woman was killed and five others injured, three seriously, in a three-vehicle collision in Lincolnshire.

The crash, involving a Vauxhall Corsa, Citroen Saxo and Volkswagen Polo, happened on the B1192 at New York on Friday at 22:50 BST.

The woman, who was a passenger in the Saxo, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car's male driver and a second female passenger have sustained serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Corsa, an 18-year-old man, was also seriously injured and was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham with head injuries.

Two 17-year-old men, who were passengers in the vehicle, were taken to Pilgrim Hospital in Boston with less serious injuries.

The driver of the Polo, a 17-year-old man, was uninjured.

The road was closed for more than eight hours.
