Grantham students join BBC campaign to get people online
Students in a Lincolnshire town are to give their spare time helping people learn how to use computers.
Elderly residents at Avery Lodge Care Home in Grantham are to be assisted by the students as part of the BBC's Give An Hour campaign.
The initiative aims to persuade people who have computer skills to pass their skills on.
The students from Grantham College and the Girls High School will be at the care home on Sunday.
Helen Brown, from Avery Lodge, said computers "make a real difference to the quality of life of residents, whatever their level of ability".
She said the main problem is a fear of using them, and having young people in the home will be an ideal way of putting residents at ease.
The Give An Hour campaign is trying to encourage people to spend the hour provided when the clocks go back this weekend, showing someone how to use the internet for the first time.
