Police in Skegness want to speak to two people about an "unprovoked attack" which left a man permanently disfigured when part of his ear was bitten off.

The victim was also punched repeatedly and had a pint glass smashed into his face during the assault on Lumley Road.

The Lincolnshire force said it was one of the worst attacks they had seen.

CCTV images of a man and woman, believed to be from Nottingham and on holiday in the resort at the time, have been released.

The victim was attacked after being approached and engaged in conversation by an unknown man while standing outside a bar on the road at about 21:50 BST on 31 March.

Police appealed to anyone who recognises the couple to contact officers.
