A cannabis factory containing hundreds of plants has been discovered inside a Lincolnshire industrial unit, police have revealed.

Officers raided the unit on the eastern edge of Grantham on Thursday and found a wooden structure with extensive ventilation and hydroponic systems.

Detectives estimated the plants had a street value of about £500,000.

A 27-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth have been remanded in custody on suspicion of cannabis production.

Officers found a low-roofed enclosure with plasterboard, plastic sheet walls and a system of ventilation pipes.
