Kirton driver jailed after drunken trip home

A drunken motorist who drove his car at speeds of 90mph and took roundabouts on the wrong side of the road has been jailed for eight months.

Vaidas Bauba, 25, of Langley Mews, Kirton, near Boston, was spotted driving erratically by an off duty police officer, who dialled 999.

He was arrested near Boston and later found to be three times over the limit.

Speaking at Lincoln Crown Court, Judge Sean Morris told Bauba "it is a miracle that you didn't kill anyone".

He said: "It is quite clear that the angel of death must have been busy elsewhere that night."

Bauba admitted charges of dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol following a night out in Peterborough on 7 April.

He was also banned from driving for one year.
