An investigation has begun into the "suspicious death" of a 30-year-old man in what Lincolnshire Police have described as a "violent incident".

Officers were called to Edinburgh Road, in Grantham, just after midnight on Saturday.

The injured man was taken to Grantham Hospital where he later died.

Three men, two aged 24 and one aged 21, and a woman, aged 26, all from the local area, have been arrested in connection with the death.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said the circumstances of the man's death were being investigated by the East Midlands' Major Crime Unit.

Det Ch Insp Kate Meynell added: "We are at an early stage of the investigation talking to witnesses and the family of the deceased man.

"We are trying to establish exactly what happened and I am asking witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward."
