Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of an electrician in an apparently random attack in west London.

Officers found 22-year-old Daniel Omari Smith, from Paddington, near the southern end of Harrow Road at about 0015 BST on 22 May.

He had been shot after leaving a fast food restaurant.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said a 23-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

'Loving family'

Two 21-year-old men arrested in May have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police said Mr Smith was a "young working man and from a loving family" and the reason behind the shooting remained a mystery.

Lines of inquiry are believed to include that he was killed after an earlier road rage incident or he was mistaken for someone else.

Mr Smith, who lived with his mother and two sisters, had been out with a friend before stopping at a KFC in Harrow Road, Paddington, on his way home.

Eyewitnesses said he was shot as he walked back to his car. He staggered back into the takeaway but collapsed and died later in hospital.
