Woman, 60, killed by car in Bexleyheath

A man has been arrested after a woman was killed by a motorist in south-east London.

The victim, in her 60s, was hit by a car in Brampton Road on Sunday morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been told.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said they know her identity but await formal confirmation.

A driver was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody at a south London police station.

The Met's Road Death Investigation Unit would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time of the incident.

They are particularly keen to hear from the driver of a gold Honda Civic and a female jogger believed to have passed the scene.
