Man, 83, 'killed woman at home' in south Norwood

An 83-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering a woman at the home he shared with her in south London.

Stanley Jamieson allegedly killed 70-year-old Indra Tharmananthan in April. She had been beaten and strangled.

The pair lived together in Cromer Road, south Norwood.

Mr Jamieson, who appeared at the Old Bailey, was remanded to a mental health unit and will appear at a further hearing on 29 October.
