Girl hurt in secondary school six-flight stair fall


A girl has been seriously injured falling down six flights of stairs at an east London school.

The pupil was hurt in the fall on Wednesday afternoon at Raine's Foundation Secondary School in Bethnal Green.

The girl, though to be in year seven, was taken to hospital and remains in a serious condition, after she fell down an internal stairwell.

Police were called but have not launched an investigation.

The incident happened at about 1200 BST.
