Black cab passenger dies in A4 west London lorry crash

A man has died after a lorry crashed through the central reservation of the A4 in west London and collided with a black cab.

He was one of three passengers in the taxi which was travelling on the eastbound carriageway in Chiswick.

The driver and the other two male passengers suffered minor injuries. The lorry driver was taken to hospital and treated for shock.

The A4 was shut both ways while the scene was investigated.

The crash happened at about 1600 GMT on Tuesday, near the turn off for Sutton Court Road.

The A4 reopened shortly after 0000 GMT on Wednesday.
