Murder in Hayes as man is shot dead in street

A man has died after being shot several times in the chest in west London.

He was found in Marvell Avenue, Hayes, at about 0200 GMT on Christmas Eve and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was in his 30s and his family have been told of his death. A post-mortem examination is due to take place later at Uxbridge Mortuary.

A murder investigation has been launched but the Metropolitan Police said there had not yet been any arrests over the attack.
