Woman charged over murder of man, 91, in Tottenham

A woman has been charged with murdering a 91-year-old man who was found fatally injured in his London home by his son.

Melanie Cole, 49, will appear before Thames Magistrates' Court in London on Monday charged with murdering retired builder William Reilly.

Mr Reilly's son found him injured at home in Tower Gardens Road, Tottenham, north London, on 29 December.

Mr Reilly was taken to the Royal London Hospital but died eight days later, on 6 January, as a result of his injuries.

A post-mortem examination at Haringey Mortuary gave the cause of death as trauma to the head and pneumonia.
