Arson arrest after firefighters injured in flat fire
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after four firefighters were injured tackling flat fire in south London.
London Fire Brigade was called to a fire in a block of flats at East Hill, in Wandsworth, on Saturday night.
The injured firefighters suffered burns to their arms and legs. Two remain in a London hospital.
A 38-year old man was questioned at a south London police station and bailed to return on 20 March.
The blaze on the three-story block was tackled by 40 firefighters.
Six people left the building before the fire brigade arrived, and firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, led one person to safety.
The fire was put out by 0155 GMT on Sunday.
The blaze damaged the ground, first and second floors of the building.
