Men rescued from Acton house fire

  • Published

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued two men after flames tore through a home in west London.

The fire took hold of a shop with flats above it on Acton High Street at about 2320 GMT on Sunday. Four appliances went to the scene.

Rescue workers used a thermal imaging camera to locate the two men and led them to safety down the main staircase.

The men were both treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, but were otherwise uninjured.

Half the ground floor of the building was destroyed.
