'Cherry picker' worker hit by bus near St Pancras

A man working on a "cherry picker" was seriously injured when its hydraulic arm was in collision with a bus.

The incident happened at about 0515 GMT opposite St Pancras station on Euston Road in central London.

The workman suffered head injuries when he fell to the ground and was then hit by the number 45 double-decker bus.

The 31-year-old was taken to hospital where he was in a serious condition. The Heath and Safety Executive has been informed.

A Transport for London spokesman said: "A full investigation will be carried out into the incident."

Two lanes of the eastbound carriageway were closed for several hours as a result of the accident.
