A man has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of arson with intent to endanger life following a house fire in east London.

Two men, thought to be aged about 20 and 40, were pronounced dead after being found at the maisonette in Chapman Street, Shadwell, on Monday.

The men, who are yet to be identified, were killed by smoke inhalation, a post-mortem examination has revealed.

A 52-year-old man will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
