Baby in hospital after Ealing flats fire

A baby is being treated in hospital for the effects of breathing in smoke after a fire broke out at a block of flats and shops in west London.

Around 30 firefighters were sent to the five-storey building on Royal Parade in Western Avenue, Ealing, shortly after 2100 BST on Sunday.

About 20 people were evacuated from the building before the London Fire Brigade arrived.

A spokesman said the baby was taken to hospital after the brigade arrived.
