William Reilly murder: Woman to be tried over death

A woman is to stand trial over the murder of a 91-year-old man who suffered fatal head injuries in his home in north London.

Melanie Cole, 49, of Culford Road, Islington, north London, appeared at the Old Bailey where she denied killing retired builder William Reilly.

Mr Reilly was found in Tower Gardens, Tottenham, on 29 December by his son. He died eight days later.

Ms Cole's trial begins on 8 August and is expected to last 10 days.

She was remanded in custody.
