Man charged over Bexleyheath police officer attack

A man has been charged following an attack on an off-duty officer who was hit on the head with a bottle.

The 32-year-old officer, who suffered cuts to the head, was attacked in Albion Road, Bexleyheath, south-east London, on Friday morning.

A 38-year-old man, of no fixed address, appeared before Bromley magistrates on Saturday charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was remanded and will appear next at Woolwich Crown Court on 10 June.
