Teenager critical after stabbing in Wimbledon

An 18-year-old suffered critical injuries after being stabbed in south-west London.

Metropolitan Police officers and paramedics were called to Putney Heath in Putney at about 23:00 GMT on Tuesday after reports of a stabbing.

They found the man suffering from stab wounds. He is in a critical but stable condition in hospital, police said.

Officers believe the victim was stabbed on Haydons Road in Wimbledon earlier that night.

Scotland Yard added it believed he was stabbed near to the junction with Queen's Road, in Wimbledon.

No-one has been arrested.
