Two men have been found guilty at the Old Bailey of murdering a brothel guard in a knife attack in north London.

Jordean Franklin Thomas and Marcio Manuel Fernandes Dos Santos, both 19, attacked Carlos Oliveria in Watling Avenue, Burnt Oak, in July last year.

Thomas, of Mill Hill, and Dos Santos, of Colindale, were convicted on Friday. The pair will be sentenced on 20 April.

Mr Oliveria, from Brazil, was stabbed in the chest following a robbery at a brothel he guarded, police said.

Both Thomas, of University Close, and Dos Santos, of Warmwell Avenue, were also found guilty causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Dos Santos was additionally convicted of robbery, a crime Thomas had previously admitted.

Following the conviction, Det Insp Leon James said: "Mr Oliveria fell victim to two men who robbed the brothel he guarded at knifepoint, in the belief that it was an easy target.

"Mr Oliveria was stabbed to death and another man seriously injured.

"Nothing can justify the actions Thomas and Dos Santos took that evening which have left a family grieving for a man who had left his home in Brazil to try to make a living in difficult circumstances."
