Woolwich flat plunge woman named as Shanice-Paris Goff

A woman who died in a fall from the 17th floor of a tower block as police visited a flat in south-east London has been formally identified.

Shanice-Paris Goff, 18, fell from a window of a flat in Mulgrave Road, Woolwich, on Tuesday, police said.

She had been convicted in connection with three street robberies in London in 2009 and was out on licence after serving part of her sentence.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

He has been bailed until June.

The woman's next of kin have been informed. An inquest will be held on Tuesday at Greenwich Coroner's Court.

Police said they believe the woman was alone in a bedroom when she fell.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "This was a pre-planned arrest enquiry - officers called at the address and were allowed entry to the flat.

"Shortly after the officers entered the flat a woman fell from a bedroom window on the 17th floor.

"Initial information suggests that she was in the room alone."

The incident has been referred to both the Independent Police Complaints Commission and the force's Directorate of Professional Standards.
