Dozens of Union flags have been hung along Oxford Street in central London ahead of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The flags are part of a Great British Fashion Flag Showcase, as a celebration of the British fashion industry.

A total of 147 flags were displayed to represent the number of years since Oxford Street was remodelled to form a modern high street.

The flags are the first of 500 which will appear in the West End.

The New West End Company, which represents businesses in the area, said it expected the Great British Fashion Flag Showcase to be seen by more than 12 million shoppers.
