Met police community support officer charged with rape

A community support officer (PCSO) with the Metropolitan Police has been charged with rape.

Kevin Mitchell, 42, is accused of attacking a 21-year-old woman in Peckham, south London, on 16 December last year, the Met said.

Mr Mitchell, who works for the Met's Safer Transport Command, is charged with rape and sexual assault.

Police said he had been suspended from work and bailed to return to Camberwell Green Magistrates Court on 28 May.

Mr Mitchell was off duty at the time of the alleged offence.
