Met police officer found shot dead 'greatly missed'

The wife of a Metropolitan police officer who was found shot dead at an east London police station has paid tribute to him.

Wendy Cornelius said her husband was "an incredibly loving husband, son and brother who was loved and adored".

PC Kenny Cornelius, 38, who served with the Aviation Security Command at London City Airport, was found dead at North Woolwich police station, on Sunday.

The Met has said indications are that he took his own life.

Mrs Cornelius said: "Kenny was dedicated to the police force and was very proud to be a serving police officer.

"He will be greatly missed. We are struggling to come to terms with this tragedy."

The Directorate of Professional Standards is investigating.
