Mother appeals after Marvin Hogan stabbing murder

A mother has appealed to witnesses after her son was stabbed to death in east London.

Police were called on Monday at about 21:40 BST to reports of a man stabbed in Thornhill Gardens, in Leyton.

Marvin Hogan, 28, was taken by ambulance to Royal London Hospital but died in the early hours of Tuesday.

Mr Hogan's mother Jean said: "If anyone knows what happened to my son please come forward and tell the police."

Scotland Yard said Mr Hogan was in his silver Vauxhall Astra car on Windsor Road, Leyton, when he was confronted by a number of men.

The man from Leyton was then stabbed in nearby Thornhill Gardens, police said.

Det Ch Insp Rob Pack said: "We are asking anyone in the area who may have seen or heard anything of the incident to come forward.

"If you recall anything suspicious - no matter how trivial it might appear - we need to hear from you.

"It could help bring those responsible for Mr Hogan's murder to justice."
