Cocaine find in London prompts drugs charges for three people

Three people have been charged after cocaine with a street value of more than £10m was recovered in London.

Gilmar Gil Solano, 24, of Deptford; Paula Sanchez, 32, of Muswell Hill and Martha Santiago, 35 of Woolwich have been charged.

All three are accused of conspiracy to import Class A drugs from South America.

They are due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday, the Metropolitan Police said.

A spokesman for the force told the BBC that the drugs had been found within a cargo of processed food at Heathrow Airport.

The flight had arrived from Quito in Ecuador.

Mr Solano has dual UK and Colombian nationality, said police.
