Brixton stabbing: Teens remanded in Junior Nkwelle murder

A girl of 14 and a 16-year-old boy have been remanded in custody after they appeared in court charged with murdering a boy in south London.

Junior Nkwelle, 15, was found on Thursday with stab injuries near his home on Loughborough Estate in Brixton.

The girl and the boy, who cannot be named, appeared at Camberwell Green Youth Court charged with murder.

They were remanded in custody and will appear next at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.

A vigil was held on Sunday night for Junior who has been described by people in the area as a "friendly boy" who was a "very good footballer".

His mother, other relatives and friends attended the candlelight vigil.
