About 150 people have been moved to safety after a fire broke out in an office building in south-west London.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said they were called to the building in Fife Road, Kingston, just after 13:00 GMT.

Forty firefighters from eight fire engines tackled the fire. The fire was brought under control by 14:50 GMT.

The roof of the office, located above shops, was alight. People from nearby shops and offices were evacuated but no injuries were reported, the LFB said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

LFB group manager Darren Munro said: "The roof was very badly damaged in the fire, but firefighters prevented it from spreading to the adjoining buildings."
