Dogan Ismail 'killed trying to find phone on estate'
A 17-year-old was stabbed to death after going to a housing estate to try to retrieve a stolen mobile phone, the Old Bailey has heard.
Dogan Ismail was attacked after going with a 15-year-old to get back his BlackBerry from the Aylesbury estate, Walworth, south London, on 30 December.
The court heard they confronted a youth who is alleged to have gone into a flat and returned with a knife.
He denies murder but admits theft and manslaughter.
Brendan Finucane QC, prosecuting, said: "After a few minutes, he came out again. This time he was holding a knife."
The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was said to have walked straight up to Dogan, stabbed him in the chest and walked away.
Dogan collapsed and died despite a doctor and paramedics giving him emergency treatment.
The youth disappeared but presented himself to police two weeks later, jurors heard.
The case continues.
