Injured man dies after 'disturbance' in Islington

A man has died in north London after a disturbance.

It took place in the early hours at York Way in Holloway, Islington, said the Metropolitan Police.

The 20-year-old was found with serious injuries at the scene, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made as yet but police said they want to speak to anyone who saw a group of men near Aspendos Bar and Grill in York Way.

Next of kin of the deceased have been informed.

Det Ch Insp Matt Bonner said: "We are at the early stage of a murder investigation and we must retain an open mind, however we believe this to have been a targeted attack on the victim.

"In particular, I need to hear from anyone who saw a group of three or four males near to Aspendos Bar and Grill in York Way close to the junction with Camden Road, at around 00:45."
