East London stabbing: Fourth arrested after man dies

A fourth man has been arrested after a man in his 30s died after being stabbed in the chest in an east London street.

Liam Hamilton, 32, from Tower Hamlets, was stabbed on Simpsons Road at the junction with Poplar High Street, Poplar, just after 22:00 BST on Friday.

He was taken to an east London hospital suffering from stab wounds but died shortly afterwards.

The man who was arrested is being questioned at an east London police station, along with three other men.

A post-mortem examination, held on Sunday afternoon at Poplar Mortuary, established the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

The victim's next of kin have been informed.
