Woman admits killing her baby daughter in east London

A woman has admitted killing her four-month-old daughter in east London.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to manslaughter of the baby and two counts of child cruelty relating to two other children at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

The baby was taken from an address in Bow to a hospital on 4 October 2013 where she later died.

A post-mortem examination found she died from severe acute malnutrition and dehydration, the Metropolitan Police said.

The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will be sentenced on 30 May.
