Ellie Butler death: Mother charged with perverting the course of justice

A mother has been charged with perverting the course of justice after the death of her six-year-old daughter.

Ellie Butler collapsed at her Sutton home on 28 October. A post-mortem examination found she died from a head injury.

Jennie Gray, 34, is due to appear on bail before Croydon Magistrates' Court on 6 May.

Ellie's father, Ben Butler, has been charged with murdering his daughter and is due at the Old Bailey on 29 May.
